SPIRAL JETTY: 2005 VS. 2022

In June of 2005, I travelled to the Great Salt Lake with the Dia Foundation to photograph the Spiral Jetty. I returned to the Salt Lake that August to photograph the entire lake which resulted in my exhibition, Salt Lake Reconsidered.

My most recent body of work, Entropy consists of over twenty aerial images of the Great Salt Lake, captured in August 2022.

The volume of water in the Great Salt Lake has shrunk to two-thirds of what it was during my last visit in 2005. The Spiral Jetty is now completely engulfed in sand.
